Cursillio

Cursillo is a weekend retreat for adults held at Gravatt, a nearby Episcopal camp and conference center. The key elements of a Cursillo weekend retreat are: relationship, evangelism, and reconciliation. The intent is to ground Christians in their faith.
The Cursillo weekend begins Thursday night and ends Sunday afternoon. There is a well thought out flow for the weekend that includes talks, meditations, music and worship. Lay people conduct the weekend with 2 or 3 clergy members as spiritual advisors. After the Cursillo weekend, the journey doesn’t end—it deepens. Participants are invited to reconnect for a follow-up gathering, a time to reflect, share, and grow alongside others who have had the same experience. |
From there, you’re encouraged to continue living what Cursillo calls the “Fourth Day”—your everyday life after the weekend. This ongoing journey is supported through practices like spiritual direction, small group reunions for prayer and accountability, and larger community gatherings called Ultreyas held throughout the year.
This “Fourth Day” is at the heart of Cursillo. It transforms the weekend from a meaningful event into a lasting way of life, rooted in community, faith, and continued spiritual growth.
